May 17, 2016 2017 Chrysler Pacifica 8 passenger seating. 2018 Honda Odyssey vs Chrysler Pacifica Minivan Matchup Review: The Minivan Wars Are Back! UPDATE: Our full review of the 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica When CarseatBlog visited the Chicago Auto Show, we wanted to be sure to get a look at the all-new Chrysler Pacifica minivan. The Pacifica isn't an update of the existing Town & Country, and it's not a revamp of the crossover Pacifi.
If you are on the market for a new minivan, and you want the best there is, then you’re decision is pretty easy, buy the Chrysler Pacifica. Well, now that’s out of the way, you need to decide whether you want the Chrysler Pacifica or the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
Both are very similar, but there are some differences and those differences might be the deciding factor. SeatingIf you need a minivan that offers seating for eight passengers, you are going to want to go with the Chrysler Pacifica because it is available with three seats in the second-row. If eight passenger seating isn’t a must-have feature and seating for seven people is good enough, then the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is still an option. Stow ‘n GoOne of the most loved features about the Chrysler Pacifica and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system.

Exclusive to FCA minivans, Stow ‘n Go seating makes it possible for users to easily fold select seats into storage compartments that are built-in to the floor. That capability is awesome because it makes it a breeze for people to reconfigure the cabin to accommodate large cargo whenever they need to. Other minivans only offer the ability to fold the top half of the seat flat or the option to completely remove the seats from the vehicle.
Additionally, when the seats are not folded into their storage compartments, those storage compartments can be used to store other items, so it keeps the cabin nice and organized.Stow ‘n Go seating is standard on the Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, but there is one difference. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid only offers Stow ‘n Go seating in the third-row seats, and that’s because the battery that is a part of the vehicle’s powertrain is located under the second-row seats. The Chrysler Pacifica features Stow ‘n Go seating in the vehicle’s second- and third-row seats. Fuel EconomyFuel economy and powertrain is the biggest difference between the Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The Chrysler Pacifica has an internal combustion engine, and the engine is a 3.6-liter V6 engine.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), which means the vehicle has an internal combustion engine as well as dual electric motors that are powered by a large battery, and overall the Pacifica Hybrid has a much better fuel economy.Overall, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a much better fuel economy. The Chrysler Pacifica averages 18 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, has a combined city/highway fuel economy of 22 mpg, and it has a total driving range of 418 miles on a single tank of gas. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid actually has a few different fuel economies. When the Chrysler Pacifica is only powered by its internal combustion engine, it has a combined city/highway fuel economy of 32 mpg; when the vehicle’s electric motor and engine work together in hybrid mode, the vehicle averages 84 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent); additionally, the Pacifica Hybrid can travel up to 33 miles when only powered its battery.
Thanks to the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid’s increased fuel economy, the Pacifica Hybrid has a total driving range of 566 miles when the vehicle has a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery. CostThe Chrysler Pacifica has four trims that have a lower starting price than the lowest starting price of the most affordable Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, but if money is your deciding factor, there are some other things you should consider. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit and buyers can benefit from the tax credit when they do the taxes for the year they bought their vehicle. So if a buyer can use that tax credit to their advantage, the cost of the Pacifica Hybrid would theoretically be reduced to $32,495 (plus destination fee), which is $100 less than the Chrysler Pacifica Touring Plus (starting MSRP $32,595 (plus destination fee)), which has the exact same features.Additionally, the fuel savings of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will save drivers money throughout the time they own the vehicle. According to FuelEconomy.gov, the average driver will spend about $1,900 in fuel costs per year with the Chrysler Pacifica. However, Fueleconomy.gov estimates that the average driver will only spend about $950 per year in fuel costs driving the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. So essentially, every year, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will cost $950 less to drive.
In five years, that adds up to a total savings of $4,750!Want to come and see what the differences of the are like for yourself? Come to Miami Lakes Automall to test drive them both! We can show you all of the different features so you can decide for yourself.Comments on this entry are closed.

No other vehicle can match a minivan's ability to comfortably ferry passengers and cargo. But the minivan's utilitarian design and somewhat dorky public image are equally able to put off all sorts of shoppers. For those people, we recommend taking a look at the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica.Sure, it's still a minivan, but with a curvaceous front end and luxurious cabin, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is different from the others, and quite a departure from the capable yet long-in-the-tooth Town & Country it replaced last year. This is the minivan for those who crave more than just function. Not that the Pacifica lacks the tenets that make minivans unique; after all, it's made by the company that created the modern minivan in the 1980s. In addition to a spacious cabin, roomy third row and ample cargo area, the Pacifica retains one of the Town & Country's best features: Stow 'n Go seats. Most minivans have a third row that neatly folds into the cargo pit to create a flat load floor behind the second row. The Pacifica is the only one with second-row seats that also fold into the floor.
In just a few minutes, the Pacifica transforms from an eight-passenger people mover into a two-seater that easily fits 4-by-8 sheets of drywall. We're equally impressed by the Pacifica's quality cabin appointments, especially in the top-trim Limited model. Soft-touch plastics, stitched trim and supple leather fill the interior, accenting other highlights such as an intuitive touchscreen interface and widely available rear-seat entertainment system. Light pours in through the massive dual-panel sunroof to illuminate the bright two-tone interior. And all the latest advanced driver aids are here, from blind-spot monitoring to an automated parking feature and adaptive cruise control. There are drawbacks, of course. The nine-speed automatic is a little clunky, and many desirable features are tied to the high-end Limited model. But by and large, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is worth your consideration for its enviable interior design, thoughtful cargo solutions, and numerous luxury and safety features. The L trim debuts as the new entry-level Pacifica model, and blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, an upgraded Uconnect infotainment system, and newly available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the board.
Many features are now available as stand-alone options on models throughout the range, including a panoramic sunroof for the Touring L Plus and a 20-speaker audio system for the Limited. HD radio is added to the upgraded 8.4-inch touchscreen. The rear-seat Uconnect Theater system can stream video from connected Android devices, and the navigation system now comes with 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity. While there are less expensive trims available, it's not until you get to the Touring Plus that you'll find features truly helpful to the prospective minivan buyer.
These include full keyless entry, power-sliding rear doors, a power liftgate and three-zone automatic climate control. If we were at the dealership lot, though, we'd plunk down a little extra for the Touring L. This is where the Pacifica's appeal really comes into play, with a power-adjustable passenger seat, heated front seats, leather upholstery and a USB port in the second row, perfect for recharging phones and tablets. Every Pacifica is motivated by a 3.6-liter V6 (287 horsepower, 262 pound-feet of torque) that sends power to the front wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Seven-passenger seating is standard across the board, and eight-passenger seating is optional on all but the L model. The base L trim level comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, heated mirrors, keyless entry (for the driver door only) and ignition, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-zone climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a 60/40-split folding third-row seat, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker audio system with a USB port and an auxiliary jack.
